Specifically, RSOG has professional members with tested and proven experience in maternal, newborn and reproductive health, equipped with up-to-date knowledge in the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics and they are competent to conduct mentorship and provide high quality antenatal, obstetrical, gynecological and neonatal care.
Some conferences were preceded by a one-day preconference workshop on ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology, colposcopy, office hysteroscopy and laparoscopy.
In order to strengthen knowledge of the members, a monthly CPD event is conducted to discuss new updates in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, this provides a forum of exchange between members.
RSOG has been actively involved in an outreach program in rural areas to teach doctors about management of obstetrics emergencies:
Since 2014, RSOG implemented a teaching program on C/section for newly graduated medical doctors in partnership with International Organization for Women Development (IOWD), an American NGO involved in women’s health to improve skills of general practitioners in District Hospitals. The training consisted of theory sessions on basic anatomy and surgical skills technical complemented by practical sessions in the hospitals.
